Adam Hallock, LCMHC

Philosophy of Care

Hello! I am a licensed mental health therapist in North Carolina and New York. I graduated in 2011 with Master’s (M.Ed.) and Specialist (Ed.S) degrees from the University of Florida’s Counselor Education program. Since that time, I have worked in a variety of community mental health settings supporting mostly adult aged individuals experiencing a range of symptoms including anxiety and panic, mood instability, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, anger, addiction struggles, relationship issues, life adjustment, and trauma.

I have post graduate training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, brief solution focused therapy, EMDR, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, play therapy, etc. As of late, I’ve been particularly interested in the impact of trauma on the brain. My style is warm, empathic, humanistic, and person centered. My therapeutic approaches range from non directive and expressive to aspects of cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral therapy, and basic mindfulness strategies.

My goal is to facilitate an environment where you feel safe, heard, validated, and supported. We will work together to prioritize your treatment goals, and ensure that you are getting the most out of each session. You may strive to find better ways to cope, improve your outlook and attitude, and optimize your ability to find meaning and purpose in your life.
