When you have a physical ailment, like a broken bone or a sore throat, there’s no question to call your doctor. When you have a legal problem, it’s effortless to know where to find help. But when we have an emotional or psychological problem, it can be difficult to know where to turn.
If you are not familiar with counseling or therapy, it can be overwhelming to try to identify a trusted source of help. Thriveworks has licensed, trained psychiatrists and other mental health professionals that can offer in-person counseling and online counseling therapy; they are ready to help you, your child, your relationship, or your family.
There are many different areas of counseling and therapy. Some of these include:
This just a short sampling of the various areas of counseling. You may be unsure of your specific need, but simply feel like you could be thriving and achieving more in life. We can help you determine your need, make a plan for change and improvement, and walk with you on that journey. We work with individuals, children, couples, and families here at Thriveworks Counseling in Alpharetta.
Psychiatry counseling can be a particularly effective path for clients struggling with mental health concerns. Psychiatrists are trained professionals who have completed medical school and a psychiatry residency. They specialize in treating mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders of all kinds.
Psychiatrists can prescribe medication to clients, including stimulants, mood stabilizers, antidepressants, or sedatives. Your psychiatrist will help you identify whether medication, talk therapy, or a combination of both may be right for you. Psychiatrists can either lead talk therapy themselves or refer you to a licensed psychologist or counselor on the Thriveworks team.
Online psychiatry appointments are available if you’d like to speak with a psychiatrist about your mental health issues.
Our team of anxiety therapists, psychiatrists, life coaches, grief counselors, and more are dedicated to providing you with holistic, comprehensive care. They will utilize a variety of mental health techniques including talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and more.
At Thriveworks, we do not believe in waiting lists. We are ready when you need us, whether for in-person counseling or online counseling therapy. When you’re ready to get started, call our Thriveworks office to schedule your first appointment. Let us help you on this journey to better mental wellbeing.
